Genealogy:
[from greek: γενεαλογία, made by γενεά «origin, birth» and -λογία «-logy»].
Auxiliary Discipline of History dealing with the origin and the descendance of families and extractions .
With reference to specific individuals , the enunciation of the ascendants up to the founder of the family or – viceversa – the enunciation of the descendants from the founder of the family to the individual referred to.
From The Treccani Aenciclopedia

The passion for genealogy comes from the need of unveiling the mistery of its own origins.
Close to the Official History that highlights Great Personalities and Top Events , exists with equal importance another History that tells the “daily” aspects of simple and common people that have passed each other the “baton of life”.

Researching in its own roots through parish church records (1) or other old parchment documents allows not only to rebuild names, dates , news on our ancestors far away or close to our time , but to drive backwards through personal memory , family and community that time has not been able to weaken or erase .

Remember that “the future” can surface and revive such histories because it will allow the offsprings to “tell and have them last” in the future .

Joahnn Wolfang von Goethe:

“Happy is he who remembers with pleasure its past times , conversing with strangers on them, on their actions , their magnitude and that feels a secret satisfaction in seeing it as the last link in a beautiful chain”.
